Course 1.0 – Week 4 Lesson 4: Due Diligence: Your Contractor’s Inspection

One of the most essential pieces of due diligence is inspecting the physical condition of the property. Here is what you should make sure your contractor is on the lookout for.

While the lender will engage an engineering firm to provide a physical condition report, you still need to engage a contractor or engineer to inspect the property and tell you what kind of deferred maintenance is on the property, and what structural and systems problems might be present. This video covers a number of items you must make sure that your contractor is looking out for and identifies before you close.

Lesson 4 Action Steps

(1) Have a pen & your notebook ready to take notes and write down questions for the private Facebook group or monthly Q&A call

(2) Download the Contractor’s Inspection Checklist from the Resources tab.
